The other day I decided I wanted to watch ‘The Matrix’ because I never really watched, and I remember when the first one came out a lot of people I knew said they really liked it. I watched it and quite honestly I didn’t like it all that much. The concept is cool, but I think they did a terrible job with the story. In all three movies there were scenes and dialog that seemed to just go on forever, but didn’t add anything to the story, they could have cut them completely out and it would have been just the same, or at least shortened them. Over all I think the story was just poorly written and lacked logic in several places. With that said I probably couldn’t write a better story line, but that’s because I’m not a writer.

This last weekend my nephew and niece stayed at the house with us. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of work, to have them over. My nephew, Sam, is a little ball of energy. When he is awake he almost never stops. His little sister Tiffany is about the same, but a little more manageable because she can only scoot around.

Here’s a picture of Tiffany.

Isn’t she just adorable.

Sam is harder to get a good picture of because he is always moving.

There he goes!

Frontrunner

by Kevin

Yesterday I rode the new Frontrunner commuter train into Salt Lake City with my sister. It only took a little more than a half hour to get there from Layton, and once there we didn’t have to find parking we just hopped onto Trax and went to the Temple Square stop. We walked around Temple Square and took pictures. There were four weddings going on, at least we saw four different wedding groups getting pictures taken. After that we walked up to the Cathedral of the Madeleine. We walked around for awhile then got on Trax again and headed for the Gateway. We ate lunch there, and then went to the Barnes and Noble. Then we headed back home. It was actually pretty fun, and very cheap. The only thing we spent money on was lunch, thanks to the UTA Ed pass. Parking wasn’t too much of a hassle (the Layton parking lot for the train was nearly full).

I’m excited to ride the train into Salt Lake when I return to classes at the U of U in the fall, and I plan on going into downtown Salt Lake a few more times this summer. For anybody that lives north of Salt Lake taking the train is, in my opinion, probably the best way to go.

Hello world!

by Kevin

Welcome to my blog. I’ve started this blog because recently I’ve been noticing things that, to me, just seem to be out of place. Really I just want to give my perspective on things. I don’t want to ‘bad mouth’ anyone, so I’m going to try to keep things general, or anonymous. For clarity I may use specifics, but be aware that anything negative is not a personal attack, but rather an attack, or observation, on what they said or did. What I write here is my opinion and is not necessarily fact. I welcome comments and discussion, but I reserve the right to remove any comments that I feel are inappropriate. Let’s keep things dignified.
